Te Whakakī-Nui-A-Rua Trust has been established as a unit trust of Tātau Tātau o Te Wairoa, who manage the Settlement redress on behalf of the Iwi and Hapū of Te Rohe o Te Wairoa.
Our Trust represents the people of the three marae who form our Kāhui – Whakakī, Iwitea and Te Rauhina. Our takiwā consists of the coastal area from east of the Wairoa river to the Opoho stream, which is on the Eastern side of Whakakī.
We now enter an exciting, new era – and it has been more than 30 years in the making. This is our time to start achieving culturally, socially, and economically for our future.
